Russia”s GDP up to 2009 declined by 7,9%

Fall of Russia”s economy within the next year relative to 2008 was 7,9%.

Russia”s GDP, according to preliminary estimates, in 2009 amounted to 39.161 trillion rubles. In 2008 Russia”s GDP in current prices amounted to 41 trillion 256 billion rubles. Such data released Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat).

The economic activities in the past year, real gross value added is changed as follows: the greatest increase was in government and military security, and compulsory social insurance - 3.2% to 3% in 2008.

Also, a significant decrease recorded in construction - by 16,4%, in hotel and restaurant business - by 15,4%, in manufacturing industries - by 13,9%.

Greatest decline in GDP in 2008. were recorded in the field of fisheries and aquaculture - 5,6%.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Economic Development (LED) Russia late last year forecast a decline in GDP of Russia at the level of 8,5%, the Finance Ministry expected to reduce by 8,7%.

As for Ukraine, Ukraine”s GDP in III quarter of 2009 declined compared to the same period of 2008 to 15,9%. According to Goskomstat, the nominal GDP in III quarter has decreased by 9,1% compared to the same period of 2008 and amounted to 250.614 billion UAH. The fall in GDP of Ukraine on the basis of the II quarter of 2009 amounted to 17,8%.
