Russia and Belarus signed an agreement for duty-free oil shipments in 2010

Russia and Belarus today signed a package of documents on oil supplies, the official website of the government of Russia. Following the talks between Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin, Russia and the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko signed a number of documents:

• Protocol amending the Agreement between the Government of Russia and Government of the Republic of Belarus on measures to settle trade and economic cooperation in the export of petroleum and petroleum products from January 12, 2007;
• Balance oil stock of the Union State of Belarus and Russia in 2010;
• method (mechanism) changes in the rates for transportation services (transit) oil pipelines, located on the territory of the Republic of Belarus.

“As a result of a series of our meetings today, we can reach agreement and signing of documents defining the supply of duty-free oil this year. It”s a set of documents: the balance of oil and raw materials, and methods for calculating tariffs,” - commented on the results negotiations Igor Sechin.

He also added that the position of the Belarusian side was very tough for us. We went to a number of compromises with regard to the special relationship with the sister republic of the Belarusian people. “According to Igor Sechin, the documents prepared by a weighted, rather compromise and, moreover, accompanied by our joint statement on guarantees of uninterrupted transit.”
